BRMC guerrilla

I'm putting on hold the photos of California to share with you a collective project. As some of you may vaguely have heard of, I'm a really big fan of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. I love their music, their concerts and that feeling they always seem to give, be it on stage or on their records, to just show up, themselves, their guitars and their guts. It's only rock 'n' roll... but it just goes straight to the fucking point.

A few weeks ago, as I was checking their Website to see if they would add come Spanish dates to their European tour, I came across this... A "guerrilla"? Not to get all political and stuff but considering the current context in Spain and the fact that laws seriously restricting citizens' freedom are being passed in the middle of complete international indifference, the word and the idea found a particular echo. It may only be rock 'n' roll but... "Music takes us out of the actual and whispers to us dim secrets that startle our wonder as to who we are, and for what, whence, and whereto" (Ralph Waldo Emerson).

So of course, I enlisted in the guerrilla movement and received my batch of posters that I was getting ready to put up around Barcelona. Then my friend Emilie decided to pay me a visit from Paris. She's probably an even bigger fan of BRMC than I am. Needless to say that my offer of joining forces for the guerrilla was met with genuine and refreshing enthusiasm.

And this is how it became a collective international project: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and their posters, Emilie and her camera both recently landed from Paris, me and my camera, ready to be the tour guides and to go and paint Barcelona black...
